Jesus has a special message for His churches in the book of Revelations. These messages are to seven churches in the minor Asia region at that time and one of those churches mentioned is the church at Laodicea. It is marked as a wealthy church and outwardly seems to be prospering spiritually as well.

However, not everything is always what it seems. Jesus has a sharp rebuke for this church and he says certain things that will be helpful for the modern church to hear and apply.
